How much does a wedding photographer in Edmonton cost?
Congrats! You’re now engaged or have finally decided to pull the trigger on booking your wedding day! The cost of a wedding photographer is one of the most important questions if not the first question asked by a wedding couple.
The cost of an Edmonton wedding photographer can range from $2000 to $6000 with an average cost of $3000-$4000 for a wedding. The two main factors are the photographer's expertise and the hours booked.
Get a few different quotes. Unless you know for certain they're the one! Do the research and find the wedding photographer that fits your vibe and vision, reach out and ask for a wedding questionnaire and book a consultation call.
Affordability shouldn't be your only deciding factor. Your wedding day is one of the most special days of your life. Book with the Edmonton wedding photographer whose expertise, style, and professionalism you love!

How early should I book a wedding photographer?
Book your wedding photographer as soon as you can!
It’s common to book Edmonton wedding photographers at least 1 year, or even 2 years in advance to ensure they are available for your wedding date.
You can either book your venue or wedding photographer first, but it may be best to do both around the same time to get the best choices!
Maybe you have a specific year and month in mind, but no date set. Reach out to your desired wedding photographer and find out what dates they have available.
If they are booked, ask them who they would recommend, they may have other photographers with a similar style that send referrals to each other.
What questions should I ask?
You are at the stage where you’ve viewed the wedding photographer’s portfolio, checked out their social media, watched their videos, and you’re ready to reach out and inquire.
Most questions you have may already be answered through their questionnaire response, prior communication, a call you already had, or it’s outlined in their wedding packages.
In case you still have questions, here are some you could ask the photographer:
- What experience does the photographer have?
- Is an engagement session included?
- How much is the retainer?
- How many images will be received?
- What’s the turnaround time for the gallery to be delivered?
- How will the gallery be delivered?
- Will there be a second shooter?
- Is there a charge for the second shooter?
- Is there a travel fee to the wedding location?
- What if the photographer is asked to stay longer than their allotted time and is there a charge?
- Does the photographer have proper insurance?
- What if the photographer is unavailable on the day of the wedding because of an emergency?
- Will there be a contract outlining details?
Where do you provide wedding photography services?
My wedding photography services are based in Edmonton, and I also shoot weddings in Calgary and anywhere in Alberta.
I also travel across Canada as I recently photographed a wedding in New Brunswick, Canada. Destination weddings are on my bucket list for 2025 and 2026.
Are you still available for 2024 weddings?
